Ukraine Suffers War!
It is with a heavy heart that I write to you about my friends and colleagues in Ukraine, and this wonderful nation. We’ve all heard the news. It’s war. It’s terrible. Thousands, including many I know personally, are fleeing their homes with their families. Hundreds of deaths both soldiers and civilians have already been reported in just the last few days. Since the invasion, Ukraine has ordered martial law. This means that all men aged 18 to 60 must report for voluntary army duty. So the fleeing families are faced with a very difficult situation where only the women and children are allowed to cross the border. Please pray for these families that they would first of all be safe, and secondly, that they could stay together. And pray that the war would be short, and the men would return quickly and safely to their loved ones. Pray for the refugees’ safety and well-being as they’ve left home with very little and have many needs now.
Buildings, homes, businesses and airports have been destroyed. There is much need now for prayer and financial support. We’ve already received requests from “safer” areas of Ukraine where many refugees are fleeing to, such as Western Ukraine. Cities in Lviv Region, for example, although safer, there are many families hiding in shelters whenever they hear sirens of possible air strikes near by.
Please help! You can pray, and you can donate. We at Hearts for Ukraine are currently accepting donations on behalf of our partners in Ukraine who have made urgent requests to help with the influx of refugees arriving daily.
